Present in Quebec and Ontario, Transdev Canada already has 2,500 employees operating in the transit, student, paratransit and medical transportation sectors. Transdev is also the operator of the future Hurontario light rail system in the Greater Toronto Area, as a member of the Mobilinx consortium, and of the future Ontario Line metro as a member of the Connect 6ix consortium.
Now, with Lucien Bissonnette Inc, Transdev Canada is expanding its business with the addition of some 60 school buses in the Vaudreuil-Dorion regions. This acquisition is in line with the Transdev group's growth strategy in Canada, with the aim of offering a range of multi-modal services for many communities, while remaining as close as possible to the specific needs of each territory. In addition, this acquisition will reinforce Transdev's school transport electrification strategy in Quebec, which already has more than 30 electric school buses and has the same number on order.
"The association of Lucien Bissonnette Inc. with our growth plan represents an important step in our development in Quebec. It is a joint opportunity to grow together to offer safe and innovative school services to more Quebec communities. It is a great asset to be able to partner with new talent from this renowned company."
Arthur Nicolet, Chief Executive Officer of Transdev Canada
“We share strong values with Transdev, which are focused on our employees and the quality of service we provide to the communities we serve. The family business will continue to grow within this new organization and we look forward to working together on future opportunities, including the electrification of school transportation.” adds Yanik Bissonnette, General Manager of ELucien Bissonnette Inc.
